Together with the Broadcasting Board of Governors and its affiliated groups—Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Radio Free Asia and others— Freedom House will host this symposium examining the state of press freedom around the world, with particular attention to Zimbabwe, Venezuela and China, as well as a few other key countries. Trevor Ncube, executive chairman and publisher of the Zimbabwe Independent, and Marcel Granier, president of 1BC Television in Venezuela will speak, among others. During the event, Freedom House will release the findings of its survey, Freedom of the Press 2007.
